Maddy’s Dump N Shove Cookies

These were the first cookies I made successfully, probably because they are so easy to make.  They are delicious. A friend gave me the recipe.

Maddy’s Dump N Shove Cookies

Dump it in the pan and shove it in the oven :)

*2 sticks of butter or margarine (butter is better)

*1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs

*1 can sweetened condensed milk

*1 bag semisweet chocolate chips

*Half a bag of flaked coconut

*Half a bag of nuts, chopped (I usually use walnuts – you can use more or less depending on how much you like)

*Preheat oven to 350 degrees (use 325 degrees if using a glass dish).
*In a 13 x 9 inch pan, melt butter by placing in oven.
*Sprinkle crumbs evenly over butter.

*Dump the following into the pan in layers in THIS order:

Coconut, chocolate chips, nuts.  Press down gently

*Pour condensed milk evenly over crumbs — it is ok to leave gaps but you don’t want just a few large globs.  To make this easier I only open half of the can of condensed milk at first and let it flow out.  When the can is halfway or so empty open the rest of the can so you can scrape out all of the condensed milk.
*Bake 25 – 30 minutes or until lightly browned.
*Cool thoroughly before cutting — in a rush — put it in the fridge but put a potholder underneath — in a HUGE rush?  Put it in the freezer (again with a potholder underneath) but in either case check on it as it is harder to cut when it is very cold.
*Makes 24 bars but I usually cut them smaller as it is so rich

It is definitely sinful! And the worst (best?) part is that whenever I’ve made it, I’ve wanted to keep on eating it!
