Mashed Potato Bake

5 cups water

4 cups frozen hash brown potatoes

1 package (7.6 oz.) Betty Crocker Butter & Herb mashed Potato Mix

½ cup (1 stick) butter

4 oz. cream cheese

1 cup Monterey Jack cheese

½ cup sour cream

½ tsp. garlic salt

½ tsp. salt

½ tsp. pepper

2 cups French fried onion rings

Preheat oven to 350o.

Bring water to a boil, add the hash browns, cook for 5 minutes and drain.

Prepare mashed potato mix according to package directions.

Soften the butter & cream cheese in a large bowl.

Add hash browns, mashed potatoes, Jack cheese, sour cream and seasonings to the butter & cream cheese.

Mix well and place in a greased 9”x13” casserole dish.

Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown on top.

Sprinkle the onion rings over potatoes and bake for another 5-8 minutes.
